Keto Orange Cranberry Sauce FAQs

Are fresh cranberries OK on the keto diet?

YES! I don’t bar myself completely from ANY fruits and veggies on the keto diet. I just might eat less or save them for a carb up day. Cranberries are ok on the keto diet especially because of their fiber content. If you’re counting net carbs instead of total carbs, it’s good to know that in one batch of this keto orange cranberry sauce recipe, you’ll get a whopping 15.6g of fiber, making each serving just 5 net carbs each!

Is canned cranberry sauce OK on the keto diet?

Sorry guys, the answer here is a big fat nope! Canned cranberry sauce has tons of sugar. One single serving has 28g carbs, and 24g are from sugar! But no worries! Homemade cranberry sauce is SO much tastier! And this keto version for your Thanksgiving, Christmas, or Easter table does NOT disappoint!

Hi! Do you know if this still tastes good a day or two later? I’m hoping to make it beforehand for a Thanksgiving camping trip, but you mention serving it immediately. Thanks for the recipe, I’m excited to try it!

I do think it’s best served immediately, BUT you can totally warm it up and it should taste the same! I would recommend warming it up in a saucepan (not microwave) and then stirring really well to dissolve any sweetener that may have crystallized in cooling. Good luck! Camping with Thanksgiving foods sounds amazing!!

Hi! Can I add orange zest to cranberry orange sauce? Thanks!

    • Jenn January 17, 2021 at 7:03 pm - Reply

Absolutely! It does add a minor amount of carbs (about 1 carb in 1/2 tbsp). But orange zest is so good in this sauce!
