What can I put on keto pancakes and waffles?

And now for the moment you’ve been waiting for!

Especially if you’re just starting out on keto, it can be so difficult to find the right keto pancake recipe for you.

Once you’ve got your recipe, then you need to find some delicious keto pancake topping ideas! Never fear! I did the hard work for you!

Sugar Free Buttermilk Pancake Syrup

Number one, of course, is my favorite: Keto Buttermilk Syrup. The pinnacle of all keto syrup.

Your pancakes, German pancakes, and waffles will never be the same! Stop looking for a sugar free maple syrup and start clicking on this recipe! Keto Sugar Free Buttermilk Syrup is a salty-sweet amazing alternative for your keto breakfast needs. #sugarfreesyrup #sugarfree #sugarfreebuttermilksyrup #lowcarbbuttermilksyrup #buttermilksyrup

If you’ve had buttermilk syrup before, you’re probably really excited right now. Keto buttermilk syrup?? Yes, it’s possible. You’re welcome.

If you’ve never had buttermilk syrup before, let me describe it for you. It’s a sweet, salty, buttery, rich syrup that tastes like Heaven deigned to drip itself on your breakfast platter. Again, you’re welcome.

Sugar Free Syrups

ChocZero has a variety of sugar free syrups to choose from. They have SO many flavors! Maple, of course, but also maple vanilla, maple pecan, chocolate, vanilla, caramel, coconut, and strawberry.

They also frequently have seasonal keto pancake syrups, like blueberry, peach, banana, and pumpkin pie. So if you’ve been wondering what kind of syrup you can use on keto, they’ve got an answer!

Their keto syrups are great for pancakes and waffles, but try them on ice cream, too.

Be sure to use my code KEENFORKETO to get 10% off!

Natural Peanut Butter

I had to include this for my kids. It’s not a pancake breakfast unless they have peanut butter to put on their keto pancakes!

Just be sure to choose a sugar free and canola oil free version. The one linked above just has organic peanuts in it, so it’s keto friendly for most!

Peanut Butter Sauce

For you peanut butter lovers out there, you may remember this sauce from my Chocolate Peanut Butter Ice cream Cheesecake recipe. It’s amazing. I haven’t had a single person try it and not love it.

The recipe makes about a cup, so you can make a batch and use it for ice cream, pancakes, waffles, crepes, keto desserts like cheesecake, or whatever your heart desires!

I LOVE this peanut butter sauce on my Chocolate Peanut Butter Keto Cheesecake!

Homemade berry sauces and syrups

Here are some great options if you’d like to make your own fruity keto pancake topping!

Confectioner’s erythritol and fresh squeezed lemon juice.

This is so yummy! It’s like an easy lazy way of making a lemon glaze. The powdered erythritol and lemon juice mix together a bit and make a lemony glaze on your keto pancake.

You can also use lemon juice concentrate, but I’m always a fan of fresh everything. And did you know that there’s now a confectioners version of stevia? That should work well, too!

Sour cream mixed with mashed berries

You can choose whichever berries you like, mash them with a fork, and stir them into a bit of sour cream. I like a triple berry mix or raspberries.

Then add a bit of whatever sweetener you prefer, but make sure it’s either powdered or liquid as most keto granulated sweeteners will not dissolve into something like cold sour cream.

There’s no rule here for amounts, just whatever tastes best to you! Spread the mixture on your pancakes and enjoy!

Sugar free jam

Blackberry is my favorite. It’s actually my go-to for pancake toppings. Here’s a great Blackberry jam with NO added sugars.

If you also like blackberry jam with your keto breakfast, try this Monte Cristo Breakfast Casserole!

Or if you’d like to make your own keto jam, here’s a delicious recipe for keto strawberry jam.

Plain old fresh berries

You can mash them with the back of a fork, slice or dice them, or leave them whole. Either way, fresh berries are a classic pancake topping!

You can even whip up some heavy whipping cream and throw the berries on top. Yum!

Lemon curd

I know this sounds weird, but hear me out. Lemon curd tastes good on just about everything. It’s like a rich, buttery, lemony pudding.

So be adventurous and try it. You won’t regret it!

Mashed berries and heavy whipping cream

Mashed berries with heavy whipping cream and a little bit of your favorite keto sweetener. Yum!

Sugar Free Marshmallow Fluff

If you’re looking for something special for more of a dessert pancake topping, Sugar Free Marshmallow Fluff is just the thing!

I have to say, making keto substitute recipes is NOT always easy, and this recipe is simply brilliant.

Honey substitute

If you miss honey on keto, you might like to try this sugar free honey substitute!

Sugar free chocolate chips

ChocZero now carries FOUR types of chocolate chips: white chocolate, milk chocolate, dark chocolate, and peppermint white (limited edition).

If you’ve never tried Choczero’s chocolate products, NOW is the time! I’ve been eating and cooking with their chocolate since going keto and I’m completely sold on it! They also carry syrups (also great for those keto pancakes!) and keto bark (soooo good!).

Don’t forget to use the discount code KEENFORKETO to get 10% off your order.

Butter

Does it have to be said? I don’t think this even needs to be on the list because it should go without saying that no matter what else you top your keto pancakes with, there will also be a huge gob of dark yellow creamy grass fed butter. Just me?

Low Carb Dutch Baby Muffins

^^^Still not enough butter on these Dutch Baby Pancake Muffins.

Yogurt

You can also top your keto pancakes with yogurt.

Here’s a great plain keto yogurt recipe, but feel free to add in whatever you like: berries, granola, jam, vanilla flavoring, keto sweeteners–basically whatever you would normally add to yogurt will work great!

Cream cheese or mascarpone

I like to mix some room temperature cream cheese or mascarpone with a bit of liquid stevia, vanilla, and toasted pecans. So yummy!

Keto-friendly Caramel Sauce

Another topping that works for pancakes AND ice cream is caramel sauce. Try this delicious keto caramel sauce on your low carb pancakes!

Keto Apple Pie Filling

How tasty would apple pie filling be on a stack of delicious keto pancakes? Or as a filling for keto crepes? Check out this keto apple pie filling–you’ll be surprised what is used for apples!

And, wouldn’t it be yummy to drizzle some of the caramel from above onto the apple pie filling and make it a caramel apple pancake? Yum!

Cottage cheese

Cottage cheese is another great versatile topping for keto pancakes and waffles and there’s plenty of protein to keep you full longer. Just be sure to get cottage cheese that’s 4% fat or higher to really get those keto diet benefits!

If you’re not into plain cottage cheese, try adding one of the above toppings along with the cottage cheese.
