I originally made this keto peanut butter ice cream sauce as a sauce for an ICE CREAM CHEESECAKE, but it’s so delicious and versatile, I find myself using it everywhere else, too! It’s especially great on vanilla ice cream, but you can use it on pancakes, waffles, crepes, brownies, and more!
I’ve tweaked it just a bit from the original to allow for three different types of sweeteners, so you can use whichever you like best.

Four Ways To Use Keto Peanut Butter Ice Cream Topping
You may be wondering what else you can do with peanut butter sauce than just as an ice cream topping. I've got some ideas for you here! Scroll down below the ideas to get to the recipe for the peanut butter sauce.
Use in place of syrup on pancakes and waffles
Do your kids like to spread peanut butter on their pancakes? Mine do. And then they drizzle sweet syrup on top of that.
My least favorite part is that they inevitably lose the butter knife for the peanut butter and each of my (four) children ends up getting out a separate knife, which always, always ends up with peanut butter from tip to tip, and THEN one or two of the kids get upset that they are getting peanut butter on their hands...Ugh.
Skip that. Wouldn't it be so much better to put the peanut butter and syrup together in one glorious--and clean(er)--combo? Of course it would. You're welcome. Try it on this yummy German Pancake recipe!
Keto Double Chocolate Peanut Butter Cupcakes with Peanut Butter Frosting
Make your keto peanut butter dessert sauce a bit thicker, and you've got an easy glaze for these yummy Chocolate Peanut Butter Cupcakes! Or better yet, make the frosting, frost the cupcakes, chill the frosted cupcakes for an hour, and THEN drizzle some of this keto peanut butter sauce on top!
Low Carb Dutch Baby Pancake Muffins
Another option is to pour some peanut butter sauce on top of these Dutch Baby Muffins for an extra creamy and protein packed breakfast or snack! Or if you're a fan of dipping, add a little sauce to a bowl and dip the muffins instead. A winning combo!
Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheesecake
And of course, the reason I created this sauce: Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheesecake. This dessert is Ah-MAY-zing, you guys! Delicious chocolate peanut butter no bake cheesecake is drizzled with warm peanut butter sauce and then sprinkled with delicate chocolate shavings. It will look like you slaved for hours in the kitchen!

Time needed: 5 minutes
Follow these steps to make a keto peanut butter dessert sauce and you’ll be in peanut-buttery heaven quick as a wink!
- Melt the butter
Place the butter in a medium saucepan and melt it over medium heat.
- Add the rest of the ingredients
Add the remaining ingredients to the saucepan and whisk until all ingredients are dissolved. Be sure the sweetener is dissolved.
- Simmer the peanut butter sauce
Bring the sauce to a slight boil and lower the heat to simmer. Simmer the sauce until it has thickened to your preference. It will thicken more as it cools, so if you want yours runnier, keep that in mind.
- Add more water for thinner sauce
If you find that your sauce is becoming lumpy or is too thick for your taste, there’s an easy fix. Just add more water as you warm and whisk! It will smooth out very nicely. This ice cream topping is almost impossible to mess up!
- And now it’s smooth!
