You can mix and match and use whichever berries you happen to have on hand. My favorite, most easy way to make this is by just using a bag of frozen triple berries from the grocery store. Nothing could be simpler!

Can I use frozen mixed berries for this sugar free mixed berry sauce?

Yes! And actually, I prefer to use frozen berries when I can, especially for cooked dishes.

This is because frozen berries are actually healthier than fresh because they’re flash frozen straight from the field and don’t require all the chemical preservative sprays to keep them looking fresh.

If you do use frozen berries for this recipe, just simmer them a tad bit longer, as they’ll need to thaw in the pan, too.

I only have raspberries and blueberries. Can I just sub in more of those for the blackberries?

Yes! This recipe is so versatile. If you only have blueberries, just use those. If you don’t like raspberries, leave them out and add more of the blackberries and blueberries.
